Privacy Policy
Effective 1 October 2026
Podsage is a note-taking app for iOS and Android. This policy covers the app and the website at podsage.org.
The short version: Podsage collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, and the app makes no network requests of any kind.
What we collect
Nothing. Podsage has no sign-up, no user accounts, and no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. We do not have a server that your copy of the app talks to, so there is nothing for us to collect, store, or sell.
Where your notes live
On your device. Your notes are ordinary Markdown files; the images, files and voice recordings you add are stored alongside them, and your settings and progress are stored in the app's own local storage. None of it is sent anywhere by the app.
Device backups
One thing worth knowing, because it is not ours and we cannot see it: your phone backs itself up. If you have iCloud Backup on iOS, or Google's automatic backup on Android, your device may include Podsage's files in that backup, in the same way it does for your other apps. That copy is held by Apple or Google under your own account and your own backup settings, and is governed by their privacy policies, not this one. You can turn it off in your device settings.
When data leaves your device
Only when you choose to send it. Exporting your vault, backing it up to a file, or sharing a single note hands that data to whichever app or destination you pick. What happens to it then is up to that app, not Podsage.
Permissions
Podsage asks only for what a feature needs, at the moment you use it:
- Microphone to record a voice note.
- Camera to photograph something straight into a note.
- Photos and files to attach an image or a document.
- Notifications to show reminders and quick capture.
Each is optional. Decline any of them and the rest of the app works normally.
Children
Podsage is not directed at children under 13. Since we collect nothing, we hold no information about anyone, children included.
The website
podsage.org is a static site. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics.
Contacting us
If you email us at contact@podsage.org or support@podsage.org, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. Your notes are yours, on your device: you can export them at any time from the app, and deleting the app deletes them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. If a future version of Podsage ever adds a feature that sends data anywhere, we will say so here before it ships.
